This is such a well written and thought out book. the world building is spectacular and totally fascinating. full of action adventure and romance the author takes the reader on a rip roaring ride. There's never a dull moment. featuring characters from the previous two books as well. Jason is the third king who has found his queen albeit a reluctant one. But there are dark forces at work that are determined to destroy the kings and more importantly their queens. Jason has not always been on the side of right, some still do not fully trust him. His power and magic are immense. Chloe is no ordinary akyri either. We also find out more of the dark forces who are working against the thirteen kings. My only complaint is that we have to wait for the next book.
BalasHapusI've been a huge fan of these characters since the Big Bad Wolf series! This new book might be my new favorite though! All my favorite characters were in it, as well as some exciting new ones. The book is exciting, and sexy from beginning to end! I can't wait to see what happens next!
BalasHapusthis was a great addition to the story line. i really can't wait for the next book to come out. this series has a refreshing look on the Magic / supernatural world. The Kings series has just the right amount of love story, action and Mystery to keep you turning the page.
BalasHapusI started reading The Big Bad Wolf series when a friend suggested it. I adored that series and was launched into the Kings spin off. I would suggest reading The Big Bad Wolf series and books one and two of THE Kings series as well as The Warlock King for a couple of reasons. First of all it will give you the emotional backround that will enhance the stories and secondly, they are just darn wonderfully, exciting books. This story is about Jason, The Warlock King He has had several dark moments in both series. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about him. I guess a good woman can bring the light to most darkness. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to loving the rest of the Kings and their Queens!

Every once in a while, you stumble upon an author and get hooked. For me, Heather Killough-Walden is just such an author. I first became a fan of her Big Bad Wolf series and now I am absolutely hooked on the spin-off series, The Kings. Not only does she create a page turning novel, but for paranormal lovers such as myself, she brings all aspects of the paranormal realm into it. Each one is am excellent read in and of itself, though best if read in order. One thing I really like about her series is how the villain in one book is the hero of another. But don't expect a knight in shining armor. These are definitely bad boys. They may have a heart of gold or a silver lining to their rough exterior, but those sides are mainly for their women. And the ladies are most certainly not shrinking violets. Nor are they easily swept off their feet. The men have to work not only to win the hearts of their queens but also to keep them safe from the danger that is threatening not just the supernaturals but the world as we know it. I can not wait for the next installment in this series to arrive.
