Perfect travel watch

Bulova 97B41 White Calendar Watch

Bulova 97B41 White Calendar Watch

I'll give this watch 5 stars in the category of attractive quartz watches. It doesn't look like a cheap department store watch on the wrist. As someone else pointed out it's really a Cartier Tank clone in some ways. But the fact that it's a borrowed design doesn't detract from its classic appeal.

I really like its size. It resembles an art deco timepiece from the 30s or 40s, but it's a tad bigger than most watches from that era. If you've ever tried on a vintage watch from that period you know what I mean. I have narrow wrists for a guy and this watch is a perfect fit for me. It could easily double as a ladies watch.

The date setting instructions are a bit quirky. I've never had to walk through three steps to get the correct date before. Luckily, the current date seems to be 'programmed' into the memory, so I didn't have to march through a month of days to arrive at today's date.

If you're looking for a rectangular dress or office watch, this is it.

  2. I gifted this watch for my friend, and he just loved it!!!

Good quality leather, with gold tone, and this watch looks pretty niche when you wear it.

  3. My husband does not have big arms or hands and we have been looking for a smaller dress watch for awhile. Since most mens' watches today are enormous, heavy, too thick, very much in the way, it has not been easy to find a watch that was the right size and had a brown leather band and had the look he wanted -- but this one has it all. The downside, if this matters to you, is that the calendar is that little dot right above the 6 and it is small, can be hard to read. Nice looking on, works great, price was right, too.

  4. At my age wearing an expensive Rolex on trips seemed like inviting trouble. The Bulova is my solution. Feels comfortable. Keeps great Time.

  5. This is an extremely elegant and well made watch.

It looks much more expensive than it is.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality watch at an affordable price.

  6. This is a classic look watch, not heavy or big, reminiscent of the wind-up Elgin my father wore in the 40's-60's (battery operated now). Very attractive and comfortable, and fits close to the wrist (not thick). It is a man's size from about 10 years ago, so do not expect it to be large (study the photo's of the item for size). I am 62, not ready for the huge watches, the weight, the thickness that has got to find things to hit, or the prices for them. It looks very classy and unique and is easy to read. The date may be a little small for some eyes and there is no magnified lens over it, but works fine for my eyes. The shirt sleeve does not hang up on it. It has a very nice Roman Numeral design with a convenient date, the name/quality, and the price I like very much. Highly recommended for those that do not follow the new clunky trend and want a classic high-quality watch.

UPDATE: I REALLY like this watch. Don't be fooled by the band being a unique, hard-to-find replacement-type. It is a normal band, the middle gold piece is just an external extension that covers the middle of the band. Bands should be easy to find. I have had many compliments so far; it is noticed. Very nice!
