Awakening Elene Sallinger
Loved this book! The H is an alpha dom who is a widower who was very much in love with his wife/sub who died of cancer. He owns a bookstore where the h comes to attend a book club meeting. She is very lonely and is suffering from anxiety b/c she has not been outside her home for a year after breaking up from a 14 year relationship and she is emotionally scarred from her childhood treatment by her parents. Hero is very nice and friendly to everyone but her because he is fighting his feelings for her. He sees she has interest in submission when he notices her reading books on dom/sub topics. Very good read that pulls you in and makes you feel what they are going through as their acquaintance grows. It was nice to actually read a full length erotic book with a story behind it. I thoroughly enjoyed Awakening. It had very believable characters that were well-developed and I really cared for them after just a few chapters. The story is not too complicated yet is full of good detail that has you wanting more. The sex scenes were thoughtfully written and not too over the top. I am not a huge fan of BDSM but the way it is handled in the book was just enough to wet my appetite. I would hope for a sequel even though the epilogue does give you a short preview of happy things to come. I read this after another favorite author recommended it on Facebook. Congrats on a job well done.
BalasHapusenjoyed book brilliant writing i was hooked start to finish I've heard about book didn't think it would be as good as it was deserve 5 stars.
BalasHapusI'm a huge fan of both erotica and Elena as a writer, but this book was about more than just exploration of BDSM. It covered hurts and emotions that many people have dealt with in life. Claire and Evan are both characters that I enjoyed discovering and rooting for as I read. It was easy to identify with the hurt that they carried, and tried to deal with in the book. Elena did a great job of exploring the attraction, their fight against it, the sexual tension, and the incredibly erotic moments they had together. Definitely thinking about buying the paperback copy when it comes out in March.
BalasHapusMy reviews are very much biased when it comes to BDSM.
BalasHapusI loved this book.
Her previous relationship is a bit scary, but it works well in the book.
Also liked the fact that she isn't one of these perfectly built girls, but a woman with insecurities.
Enjoy!

BalasHapusI would change the cover of the book. I almost did not what to read it to do the cover but it was not what it seems , I read the preview i knew it was adifferent kind of story . Omg, what can I say, I love the story line. Love the deep connection of characters how involved they get. There was a part of the story that actually made me cry because of the love that was shared. You will love it too. It is a book to recommend to read.
BalasHapusWhike the characters develop throughout the story, it is amazing the tranformation and twists. To have the depth these characters have really adds to the plot and over all greatness of the story. A great subject and very in depth into the personalities of the two main characters! Great read!
