Missing Piece Inspirational Story ebook

Missing Piece Inspirational Story ebook

The Missing Piece captivated me. As a man, it caused me to pause and take a fresh look at my own life. In the beginning, Dylan is looking for a job after misplaced priorities landed him in jail. He loves to fish and have a few (too many) drinks. He's a "man's man", so to speak, but he is someone that I (and so many men) can relate to.

Dylan experiences many hardships and struggles, but with the help of a local church and his eventual faith in God, he begins to find deeper, more meaningful desires, his true passions, and the real man begins to emerge. This is a story of surrender and redemption, sin and forgiveness, passion and true love. Reading The Missing Piece was a very deep and moving experience for me. This story and mine intersect at various points with uncanny similarities. There were times while reading that all I could do was stop and reflect on my own life. Most men (myself included) have a difficult time identifying with characters in romance fiction, but this book is a rare exception. I'm sure The Missing Piece will help many find there missing piece and there missing PEACE as well.

A great book for men and for couples to share. Women, get it for your Dylan, your man, ask him to read just the first chapter. He will read the rest on his own.

Awakening Elene Sallinger

Loved this book! The H is an alpha dom who is a widower who was very much in love with his wife/sub who died of cancer. He owns a bookstore where the h comes to attend a book club meeting. She is very lonely and is suffering from anxiety b/c she has not been outside her home for a year after breaking up from a 14 year relationship and she is emotionally scarred from her childhood treatment by her parents. Hero is very nice and friendly to everyone but her because he is fighting his feelings for her. He sees she has interest in submission when he notices her reading books on dom/sub topics. Very good read that pulls you in and makes you feel what they are going through as their acquaintance grows. It was nice to actually read a full length erotic book with a story behind it. Please write more like this Ms.Sallinger.

Luminox Colormark Mother Stainless Ladies

Luminox Colormark Mother Stainless Ladies

This was a gift for my daughter at graduation. She wanted a large, woman's dive-style watch with a light dial. My rule of thumb for watches is "Swiss Made". This met both of our requirements without breaking the bank. And the Mother of Pearl dial is quite beautiful and unique. She is delighted.

This is not the typical Luminox watch. Their claim to fame is the plastic-cased, rubber- or nylon-strapped watch that the US Navy Seals adopted years ago. They make many, many different versions of that watch. What appealed to me with this watch is that it is a stainless steel case and band with a sapphire crystal - all the trappings of a quality Swiss watch.

The trend in women's watches is to be LARGE and at 38mm, this one is. In fact, this could easily serve as a mid-sized man's watch. The only thing I see that makes this a woman's watch is the number of removable links in the band. We easily adjusted it to my daughter's wrist.

Luminox watches feature luminescent hands and hour markers. This one is no different. They are rated to glow on their own for years and years. It is so bright that you may have to sleep with it in a drawer!

Overall, this is a beautiful, high quality watch at a reasonable price.

A mysterious, thrilling adventure!

Luminox 7066 Quartz Reinforced Polycarbonate

Luminox 7066 Quartz Reinforced Polycarbonate

Peter David Shapiro's novel The Trail of Money is an interesting and easy read, loaded with suspense, and it comes with an ending that took me completely by surprise. Shapiro has a disarmingly straightforward prose style that innocently sets us up to be shaken a bit, maybe even frightened, by the brutal world of big-money east Asian power brokers in which the story is set. We've all seen journalistic accounts of globalization and the opportunities for corruption and abuse of power it creates, but The Trail of Money brings all this painfully to life. Shapiro makes us feel the greed and amoral destructiveness that accompanies the hand-in-glove relationship between corporate clout and political power that seems an inescapable fact of contemporary life, whether in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, or, for that matter, the U.S.

Shapiro writes to entertain, and he succeeds in doing just that. However, this is an author who has done his homework. He understands and graphically portrays the nerve-wracking powerlessness that many of us share in a world where commonly used categories of politics and economics -- democracy, capitalism, communism, pluralism, libertarianism ... -- have ceased to differ one from the other, with all subsumed by an indifferent but menacing world-wide plutocracy. A hopeless set of circumstances where the only good that comes is by accident, or so it seems.

Shapiro, however, also understands that we live in a world where one still finds strong-willed, intelligent, creatively engaged individuals. As a result, even immeasurable wealth, and power organized on a continental scale have their limits. Ironically, moreover, in the Trail of Money the heroes and heroines do not come from the ranks of political activists, social reformers, or progressive do-gooders of any sort. Instead, they are some pretty ordinary people for whom making the world a better place may be a nice idea, but first they want to make a comfortable living for themselves and their families while maintaining their integrity and, at least occasionally, having a good time.

Yes, there are plenty of villains and a lot of large-scale evil in Shapiro's book. But his main characters are motivated by very ordinary personal factors, things like falling in love, doing their jobs well, being a good friend, and, when circumstances force their hand, avenging harm done to those they care about. In the process, they sometimes trip themselves up, mistaking friend for enemy and enemy for friend, causing hurt feelings, and, at least for the short-term, generating ill-will. Often enough, however, they manage to set things right, though, inevitably, some are lost along the way. After all, Shapiro is a realist.

The Trail of Money is a well-crafted thriller set in a thoroughly modern context, one that any of us can appreciate as an important part of the world we live in. It's true that Shapiro occasionally makes getting things done in such an environment seem a bit easier than is plausible. Still, this is a good read, one that has prompted me to look for copies of Shapiro's earlier work, expecting that it, too, will be to my taste.

17 year old Aura is a teenager living in the year 1995, though her speech is more indicative of the 1800's. I decided that this was a result of being raised by an aristocratic family in England. She runs away from home and finds shelter in an abandoned cave. She wakes to discovers she is no longer living in the 19th century. Medieval homes, warriors riding horseback, wars claiming land.... Aura soon learns how to live in her new surroundings. While hiding up a tree, Aura witnesses a brave man battling his enemies. After being left for dead, Aura climbs from the tree and decides to care for the warrior. Once Thorn recovers, he decides to take advantage of his young carer and tries to have his way with Aura. She boots him from her cave and thinks to never see the brute again. After deciding to see more of her new world, Aura meets the Duke Vernon and is taken into his home. Soon after she meets the Lord Thorn and has to decide on wether to return to 1995 or stay with her new friends and family in England's medieval time.

I found the novel on the Goodreads website. It wasn't one of the most recommended but the reviews told of an enjoyable read. I wasn't disappointed. I cried during the first chapters and was captivated during the rest of the novel. I highly recommend this novel, author M A Abraham described Auras experiences so well it was so very easy to become absorbed in Auras world.

The Best Man ebook

The Best Man ebook

I just finished "This Time You Lose". It kept me on the edge of my seat and couldnt put it down until I finished late last night. (which didnt go over well at work today /yawn).
Anyway, I recently purchased a new kindle and have been knocking out many of the so called "Best Sellers" or "Top Authors" and let me tell you, this ranks right up there with the best of them. With so many books I feel at first lost waiting for a book to start making sense, where you can understand totally whats going on and feeling a part of the story. Well "This Time You Lose" grabbed me from the first page until the last, with excellent charactor creation she made the reader understand, sympathize, and totally relate to each and every charactor from beginning to end. This gets 5s all the way. I look forward to more by this very talented author.

Skagen 329XLSLB Black Chronograph Leather

I started running this year and was using a free app on my iPhone to track my times, distances, and pace. I eventually got sick of carrying my phone with me every run and decided to get a dedicated watch. I was looking for something light that would allow me to track simple running metrics, and had no interest in heart rate or other factors. I happened to walk in to our local Garmin store in Chicago the very day the Forerunner 10 went on sale, and ended up buying one that day. I've now been using it for about 6 weeks and have been very happy. It usually finds a GPS signal in about 30 seconds. Uploading my data to GarminConnect is simple, taking only about 15 seconds. The day-to-day reproduciblity of the data is very high. I start and stop at the same spot every day, and the watch always records the same distance at that spot. The reports on GarminConnect are useful to me (maps out your route, shows graphs of your pace and elevation at every point in your run, lets you compare multiple runs, etc). Overall the Forerunner 10 provided everything I was expecting.

Forget History! THIS IS HOLLYWOOD!

Demetrius Gladiators Victor Mature

Demetrius Gladiators Victor Mature

For pure unadulterated Rome meets Hollywood hogwash you can't go wrong with "Demetrius And The Gladiators". I don't mean that in a bad way at all. Pure kitsch, and Hollywood high camp this sequel to 20th Century Fox's lavish and over the top "The Robe" is much more fun than the film that spawned it. The film is so much fun to watch because it is so serious and yet so loose with facts that would have made it much more fun if only the code would have allowed it.

Victor Mature here is well, Victor Mature as he is in all his epics from "Sampson and Delilah" to "The Egyptian". He is what passes for hunky beefcake in the 1950's. The Sylvester Stallone of his day. He gives his best and even if he is a bit soft physically he is certainly likeable and entertaining. The real hunk of man meat in the film comes in the form of Richard Egan in a small and deliciously malicious role as a rival gladiator to Demetrius. Now he would have been much more convincing as as the lead in a purely physical sense.

Another staple of the 50's less is less acting style is the lovely Deborah Paget who probably hit her high mark in "The Ten Commandments". Here as the true love of Demetrius she is perfect early Christian window dressing.

Now the real star and reason to see this film comes in the form of the lush, seethingly sensuous performance of Susan Hayward as the evil empress Messalina. When she is on screen she commands your eye and when she is gone she is missed. Susan Hayward brings her brand of bold brash bravado to the role and in essence blows everyone else and most of the magnificent sets away. She is a joy to watch as she seduces and then falls to Demetrius cause in a rather silly ending. She is a joy to watch and shows us just what a real Movie Star and one hell of an actress can do in a role that is less than her talents. And of course the real Messalina never repented and ended up in a rather bad way.

Hayward only faces one challenge in the acting department and that come from the little guy with the high shrill voice, Jay Robinson. He certainly gives Hayward a run for her money in a kind of who is the better scene chomper. Mr. Robinson who reprises his role as Caligula in what must be the most over the top, flamboyant portrait of Caligula as the "Queen" of Rome. He is squirmingly good and a delight to watch as he out chews the entire cast and a few lions to boot (Little boots!) in devouring the massive scenery.

Over all this is a Cinemascope Epic fun romp that is short on historical fact but long on high camp merry making that is endlessly entertaining.

Pulsar Womens PXU035 Functional Stainless

Pulsar Womens PXU035 Functional Stainless

I have spent years looking for a watch exactly like this. It has a day/date box where the '3' would be as well as all of the numbers (except the 3) for the time. Also, the little tick marks by each of the numbers as well as the hands glow in the dark. I have had this watch for almost 6 months and it's still in perfect working order; even if it wasn't, this thing packs a 3-year warranty. The watch band is very nice as well. It doesn't pinch my arm/wrist hairs. The watch is a little on the heavy side compared to the watches I normally wear. The clasp on the watch band is very sturdy but easy for the wearer to open. The time and the day/date are very easy to change. If you're wanting a nice day/date watch with numbers and durability, I'd say look no more! This is it.

Edit: I have worn this watch almost everyday for the last 2.5 years, and I've never had any problems with it. I haven't even had to have the battery changed. This watch is one for the ages, it seems.

A Beautiful and Touching Story!!

The Mute Book Historical ebook

The Mute Book Historical ebook

I must admit that I don't usually read romantic novels as often I find them quite boring. I was interested in this book, partially because the title, "The Mute", promised something different and unusual. After reading it, I'm sort of in shock because rather than having to live through another boring plot line where the main characters do nothing but whine and look into each other's eyes, this was a refreshing change. It's a toe-curling read, full of suspense and action, crime and violence, and a hint of romance with a heavy dose of amorous devotion. I can't wait for the next part to be released because this one was just too good. I also liked that while reading, I never encountered any typos or grammatical errors. This is a fantastic book, and I'm going to share it with some friends for sure.

Great Fantasy

Dance Dragons Song Fire Book

Dance Dragons Song Fire Book

First off, I just want mention that I was both a novice to this series and the fantasy genre as a whole (LOTR has been my main exposure). After watching the first two seasons on HBO, I had to look into reading The Song of Fire and Ice, and it has been one of the most enjoyable series of books I have read. Luckily the timing of reading the books was perfect for me, as I just finished AFFC right after this came out.

I read through a lot of reviews before purchasing this and understand people's disappointments. But although the story-lines have significantly slowed down in the last two books, I have found another type of enjoyment in that. What I have liked the best of the series was not the action or battles, but rather the on-going developments in politics. I also have loved how he has continued to expand the world, even if this has brought in seemingly random characters who are not directly related to the main story arch. I have personally appreciated every bit of extra info that has revealed a more and more realistic vision of the world where his characters are living. And most of all, I have LOVED the fact that he has allowed his characters to be killed off. I feel he has placed the developments of the story above any attachment to characters, even if they are "good." I found that the hardest events to grapple with events have enriched the realism that is at the heart of the series.

Some people may not like this latest book (especially those who have been waiting years for it to come out). Yet I have loved seeing the world develop and revealed more fully (which I think takes perspectives from more characters, especially those who are minor). And the slow movement of the last two books has given me time to take that all in. If you have loved the politics, character development and realism that is at the heart of the series, you will continue to be drawn into the plot in this book. He has spent the time setting everything in place for the rest of the series and I cannot wait.

The Childhood of Jesus ebook

The Childhood of Jesus ebook

This is a fun and entertaining read. I found myself laughing out loud more than once and finishing the book in less than 24 hours. The author describes in detail her observations about what (some) French parents have found to be possible in child rearing that many modern American parents may believe to not be possible: children who go to bed on time, don't constantly interrupt or throw food and parents who haven't completely sacrificed their own lives and adult relationships. It's an interesting discussion of where boundaries are set, how authority is communicated, and how children are allowed to explore and experience the world with independence. She gives an honest account of how these ideas have worked with her own children and where she's had difficulty or been uncomfortable, while at the same time trying to fully understand and communicate the subtly different philosophy of parents she's encountered in France.

Melanie newly single and pregnant. While working at the Charleston Museum she receives a box that wont open, While fiddling with it she makes a wish for a Highlander and was swept back in time, to the Highlands.

Darcy a man who runs a mill, and try's to be a good man and do is duty to his clan. After an incident in his youth he swore to never be with a woman.

When Darcy finds Melanie, he claims her as his own. Feeling very compelled to help and protect her.

I really enjoyed reading Wishing for a Highlander. It was the first time travel book i read in awhile. I loved how it was full of magic and action as well romance. The plot was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat with what was going on. The character were believable, and very interesting. Hero and Heroine were very well round characters and did not seem one dimensional. I loved the back story, it made it easier to see and understand why the character were the way they are. After reading this i really hope Jessi Gage writes more of this genre.

Take this Quickie SLOW

The Quickie James Patterson

The Quickie James Patterson

Except for his Alex Cross novels, most of James Patterson's efforts in recent years have been collaborations with a co-writer - this one his second outing with Michael Ledwidge (of "Step on a Crack"). However, unlike most of Patterson's best sellers, this story is definitely not a good guys finding and chasing the bad guys tale at all! Instead Lauren Stillwell, a NYC homicide cop, after catching her husband Paul involved in an apparent lunchtime dalliance, decides to have her own "quickie" with a colleague, Scott Thayer. When Scott pays a dear price at what looks to be the hands of her husband, and to make matters worse, Lauren gets assigned the police case, what follows is a spiral of lies, incredible coincidences, and mayhem. No more of the plot can be revealed without spoiling it, but the twists and turns of the storyline, presented in the typical for Patterson two-to-three page chapters, engages one in a fast-paced, relatively short summertime read that is great fun. You might be questioning the morals of the main characters before it's over, but the outcome will surely surprise if not delight!! While some reviewers feel this "beach book" is not up to snuff, having read virtually every Patterson book, over forty now (!), we'd rate it as one of his most clever, most sensational, and most entertaining! Not every book has to end Hollywood style to make it good! Or, come to think of it, maybe this one does!

The Silver Violin Nicola Benedetti

The Silver Violin Nicola Benedetti

There is no doubt this movie portrays a sad and disturbing, very real event that took place; this was not a single event it was perpetrated numerous times in different scenarios. The film accurately informs us of the complacency, which took place by those in charge of the fast food restaurant. The film while slow to start picks up once the heinous call begins. One is meant to feel shock, Anger and Sympathy for those involved. One should feel "Dirty" after seeing this film more so to make you realize how easy it is to stand up for injustice. That blind obedience should be questioned, should be disregarded when it harms another. Other revues fail to understand how easily it is to bend ones will under the guise of Authority. Hindsight is always 20/20 and it is frustrating to see so many say these people are stupid and I would never do that. Yet one must ask themselves if faced with a situation how you really would act. The very nature of asking the question hopefully forewarns one for the future. The silent 29 makes one ponder just how much we care to involve ourselves with others and act justly. The film for exploring this questionable act deserves five stars.

This is a fascinating look at how wool is processed into yarn that the young reader will enjoy ...

Sheep Sweater Finish Second Series

Sheep Sweater Finish Second Series

If you have a sweater, you might just want to know where the wool comes from and how it is made. You can see several lambs with their mother in a barn. They get their nice thick coats of wool by eating a "mixture of hay, grass, and grains." During the winter they grow a thick coat but their coats are clipped in the spring. You can watch as a farmer shears a "sheep's wool off in one big piece called a fleece." Of course during the summer months it will all grow back and will be ready once again to keep it warm during the cold winter months.

Once that fleece has been removed it is sorted. You can easily see that some of it is very dark and some looks a little dirty. The workers "keep thick wool that is light in color." After the wool is thoroughly washed, then it's spread out on pallets to dry. A man watches carefully as "machines comb the wool to remove knots," a process that is called carding. You will also learn how the wool is spun, you'll get to see how it is dyed, watch a woman as she selects her yarn, see someone knitting, and get to take a look at that finished sweater!

This is a fascinating look at how wool is processed into yarn that the young reader will enjoy. Newly independent readers will be able to read this book with a bit of assistance. More difficult words such as "knitting" are highlighted in the text and defined in the glossary. There are full-color, full-page photographs illustrating the concept discussed on the adjoining page. In the back of the book is an index and a glossary. There are free complementary downloadable educational resources on the publisher's website. This is an excellent read and discuss book for circle or story time in the homeschool or classroom setting.

Loved it!

Geneva Chronograph Watch Crystals Gold Metal

Geneva Chronograph Watch Crystals Gold Metal

I bought this watch as i wanted to buy a cheaper version of the beautiful Michael kors watches. I was really worried of the colour, quality etc of the watch as it is only 16$. However, it doesn't look cheap AT ALL. It looks like a real heavy expensive watch and its absolutely beautiful. The diamonds aren't a lot at all and neither is the gold. The size is comparable to a fossil watch. The diamonds aren't flashy they look amazing. Also it arrived so quick, 2 days before the estimated shipping date! It even came with a little bangle for free. I recommend this watch too anyone trying to save money but still have a beautiful watch. If your looking for a gold watch, buy this one! This ones particularly nice because the background on the face is gold like the more expensive versions instead of white which looks cheap. BUY IT!

also it was too big, which i expected as most watches come too big. It was very easy to remove a couple links, you just have to watch a video on it or something. So ya if you dont mind removing the links yourself or getting it sized then the size shouldnt be a problem.
