Best Watch

DKNY NY8188 Womens Watch

DKNY NY8188 Womens Watch

This is the second book I've read by this author. She seems to have a knack for creating self-contained domestic worlds which draw me in so completely that when I resurface from a long reading session, I feel quite disoriented and out of place in the real world. That to me, has to be the chief sign of an excellent story-weaver.

That, of course, and the creation of highly believable and likeable characters. 'Coming Out of Hiding' is something of a Cinderella story, but although Tae is the one whose rags are transformed to riches when Max realises her worth, it is Max who undergoes the real changes as he slowly learns to trust his rescuer and face the world he has shunned.

Max's horrendous scarring (both physical and psychological) arising from a military accident and his resultant erectile dysfunction makes him believe he is not a real man. Because of this he turns himself into a recluse encouraging all manner of rumours about him, not least from the army of employees at his aviation company whom he manages long-distance. The consequent problems in his business life provide an interesting and entertaining sub-plot which keeps the tension high and the momentum going throughout.

It is impossible not to fall a little bit in love with Max. He is certainly all man - a wonderful and memorable hero and one I rooted for all the way. But there is another very endearing male character I would love to have seen more of - Randolph - a sort of Alfred Pennyworth figure and de rigeur for all wealthy reclusive men. Tae, of course, is everything she should be and gets exactly what she deserves. Grrrr - you can go off some women...

Well done, E. Ayers for taking a little-explored but nevertheless extremely serious subject, treating it with sensitivity without excessive sentimentality and weaving your magic around it to create this heart-warming story.

great sports watch

Timex Ironman Traditional 100 Lap Silver Tone

Timex Ironman Traditional 100 Lap Silver Tone

I have owned the previous model of the watch for over 6 years and it is still my main training watch. The reason is that it is simply the best training watch out there right now. The FLIX system, which allows you to turn on the back light with a flick of the wrist, is invaluable when I am riding a bike or running at night.

The 100 lap memory lends itself perfectly to interval training (say if you are sprinting 100 m, resting for 30 secs and running again). In addition, the watch offers an interval countdown that lets you set multiple countdowns, which can be set to repeat (useful for timed sets, e.g., jump rope for 1 min, rest for 1 min, repeat 5 times). In addition, the watch has dual time and 5 alarms (I mostly use them as birthday reminders). Also, the watch has held up to biking, running, swimming, white water rafting, and the toughest test, two three year old boys tinkering with it :-).

Lastly, the newer version (featured here), has a bigger display than my earlier model. Also, if you are looking to buy a watch to help you train better, the Timex IRONMAN Triathlon Data Link Watch T53722 is be a worthy competitor.

Real Deal For Telling Time

Timex Womens T49872 Expedition Leather

Timex Womens T49872 Expedition Leather

Tangled Ashes is a work of historical fiction that is filled with mystery as the characters develop and the story unfolds. The author's development of the characters is excellent and they felt very real, very human. She skillfully intertwined true historical facts with incredible characters of her own, while also creating emotional attachments to the characters for the readers. I was intrigued the entire time and couldn't wait to see where the story was going.

I truly loved it! Michele Phoenix is a very talented writer and there were so many elements that I appreciated in this book! I learned more about WWII than I knew previously, and it made me want to know more about the Nazi occupation of France.

I highly recommend this book for any age. It is clean, it contains spiritual truths, and it is written with historical events in mind.

I received a free copy of this book from Handlebar Marketing in exchange for my honest review.

Everything wrapped up in a good story...

M%C3%A9nage %C3%A0 Trois ebook

M%C3%A9nage %C3%A0 Trois ebook

A Hook in the Sky by Claude Nougat

I ordered this book immediately after I had briefly met Claude Nougat - a wonderful, extremely talented, exquisite lady, married to an exceptionally interesting and good humoured Italian nobleman. The copy lay for a couple of months in my library, without attracting my attention until I decided to give it a try. Honestly, I could not stop. I read it through at one go, not losing interest for a second. It's really a page-turner! Claude Nougat smoothly moves through the dwindling, almost extinct relationship of a couple, long married and in reality souls long apart, but she does so without instilling the usual sense of remoteness or bleakness. On the contrary she creates the attraction of the different poles that fire and crack as soon as they get within close range to each other. There is love, pathos, art, drama, understanding, remoteness, and humiliation. Claude Nougat creates a network of sentiments and anecdotes, which kept me hooked to the very end. Even the inevitable can be moulded into an exciting expectation. `A Hook in the Sky' is not to be missed! I shall certainly move on to her other books `Flying in the Past', `Into the Fire' and `Out of the Ashes'
